I’m struggling with me electric bill, but I like the company I’m with cause it’s environmentally friendly.?

Question by haseo_phase_1: I’m struggling with me electric bill, but I like the company I’m with cause it’s environmentally friendly.?
I’m not really sure how it’s all calculated, but I’m pretty sure my 650 Watt computer is the main cause of power usage in my apartment. I can’t really use it for less then 5 hours a day because i use it for so many tasks. All the lower Wattage power supplies I had burnt out ranging from 200-500. I bought the 650 since i knew it could handle my SLI comp. I need advice on maintaining a lower electric bill as it eats me alive with the bill averaging 80-120$ a month alone.(120 If I play my online games 80 If i don’t.) i can tell you this 650 Watts at an average of 5 hours a day comes out to 3295 which is 3 kilowatt hours.

Make a Difference During Earth Month 2011

xml:lang=”en” lang=”en” xmlns=”http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml”>

Make a Difference During Earth Month 2011

Austin, TX (Vocus/PRWEB) April 04, 2011

April 22, 2011 marks the 41st Earth Day, and the celebrations and events will take place throughout the entire month of April all over the world. During Earth Month 2011, people are encouraged to help the environment by reducing pollution, protecting nature, and lowering their own personal environmental impact. Green Mountain Energy Company, the nation’s leading competitive retail provider of cleaner energy, is offering eco-tips that are easy for consumers to implement and make a difference for the environment.

Since 1997, Green Mountain has stood by its unique environmental mission – “to change the way power is made.” Nearly 14 years later, the company remains 100 percent committed to this mission.

Green Mountain’s Top 10 Tips for 2011:

Involve all of the family members to learn how to make small changes inside and outside of the home. Green Mountain Energy Company suggests these simple eco-tips for Earth Month.

Switch to Cleaner Electricity for Your Home. Tens of thousands of Texans and New Yorkers have already made the switch to cleaner energy by purchasing renewable Green Mountain Energy® electricity. The production of electricity is the leading cause of industrial air pollution, but by using clean energy, customers can reduce their share of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and feel good about making a difference.

Plant a Tree. A single tree can absorb up to 2,000 pounds of CO2 over its lifetime, while also providing shade and animal habitat.

Send e-cards. Go online and send an e-card instead of printed greeting cards to save paper and CO2 emissions associated with mailing and shipping.

Use all-natural decoration. Buy colorful fruits and vegetables as centerpieces throughout the home. Then when they ripen, find a new recipe to enjoy them with.

Use the real thing. Instead of using paper and plastic dinnerware, use real plates, bowls, and silverware. Not only does it decrease waste, but it looks nicer, too.

Seal your house up. Caulking and weather stripping around doors, windows, and other cracks can prevent air leaks and save on your heating and cooling bills.

BYOB. Bring your own bags to the grocery store. It takes one 15- to 20-year-old tree to make enough paper for 700 grocery bags.

Pay bills online. Save paper and money on stamps. If every family in the United States viewed and paid bills online, the country would save almost a billion pounds of paper and avoid 3.9 billion pounds of greenhouse gas emissions.

Practice green gift wrapping. Use old maps or newspaper and reuse gift bags to be more eco-conscious around birthdays and the holidays.

Live every day like it’s Earth Day. Take a pledge as a household to practice sustainability every day of the year. Put these simple tips to use to help the environment, decrease monthly electricity bills, and make a positive impact in the community.

The History of Earth Day:

When did Earth Day start in the U.S.?

20 million Americans participated in the first Earth Day on April 22nd, 1970.

Why did it start?

Senator Gaylord Nelson wanted the environment to be a higher priority for the American people and politicians.

When did Earth Day go global?

People from 140 countries participated in the 20th anniversary of Earth Day in 1990.

What is Earth Day like today?

Earth Day has turned into a month-long celebration when people all over the world attend events, participate in helping the Earth, and put the environment at the top of their priority lists.

Nature’s Cooling Solutions Launches Eco Breeze for Natural, Fresh-air Cooling

Nature’s Cooling Solutions Launches Eco Breeze for Natural, Fresh-air Cooling

Eco Breeze Natural Fresh Cooling fits easily in the bottom of a window

Tucson, AZ (PRWEB) April 5, 2011

Nature’s Cooling Solutions introduces Eco Breeze, an innovative new natural cooling system that saves money by using 92% less energy than air conditioning. Eco Breeze continually senses inside and outside temperature and humidity to automatically use fresh, cool outside air to cool naturally, like at night when the outside temperature can drop 20 degrees.

“The premise is simple. Cooling with natural fresh air is healthier and less expensive than cooling with air conditioning. When temperatures can swing 20 degrees daily, cool fresh air is available in all but the hottest parts of the day and it’s free,” says George Wiese, President of Nature’s Cooling Solutions. “Mother Nature provides the cool, fresh air. Eco Breeze provides the smart technology to know when to turn on and off automatically, so it’s more effective, convenient, and easier than manually opening and closing windows.”

When used in coordination with air conditioning, Eco Breeze can lower electric bills by reducing use of the appliance that consumes the most electricity in U.S. households. According to the U.S. Household Electricity Report published by the U.S. Energy Information Administration, air conditioning consumes 16% of household electricity – more than any other type of heater, cooler, kitchen appliance, or electronics equipment.

Eco Breeze can also be used without air conditioning as a standalone, cost-effective cooling solution.

Homeowners stay cool and comfortable and save money by setting Eco Breeze to cool instead of using their energy-guzzling air conditioning whenever cooling can occur naturally. Eco Breeze can also be set to supercool when it’s much cooler outside at night to help reduce air conditioning use the next day, saving more money. Eco Breeze is low profile and fits in the bottom of a window. It’s light weight, easy to install and use, and secure.

Eco Breeze has sensors that continually monitor temperature and humidity inside and outside. When temperature and humidity are lower outside, the louvers open and a quiet but powerful fan delivers cool air 16 feet into a room. A second fan, positioned to maximize air circulation through the room, exhausts hot indoor air for total room cooling.

Eco Breeze can be purchased through Amazon.com (keyword: Eco Breeze) or on the company’s website and comes with a 30-day, 100% satisfaction guarantee or your money back.

About Nature’s Cooling Solutions®

Nature’s Cooling Solutions is creating solutions for homeowners to take advantage of fresh air cooling and significantly decrease operating costs. To Commemorate Earth Month, Green Mountain Energy Company Presents Gladys Porter Zoo with $130,000 Check to Fund First Solar Array

To Commemorate Earth Month, Green Mountain Energy Company Presents Gladys Porter Zoo with $ 130,000 Check to Fund First Solar Array

(Vocus/PRWEB) April 05, 2011

To commemorate Earth Month, the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, Texas and Austin-based Green Mountain Energy Company, today announced plans for the Zoo’s first solar array. Green Mountain presented the Rio Grande Valley’s only zoo with a check for $ 130,000 to fund the new 16 kW solar panel system.

Vanessa Montelongo, South Texas market manager for Green Mountain Energy Company, along with Super Earth, the company’s mascot, today presented the check to Brownsville Mayor Pat Ahumada and Dr. Patrick M. Burchfield, director of the Gladys Porter Zoo.

The solar array will be the first to power a zoo in South Texas and also the first one donated by Green Mountain in Brownsville. It will help reduce the Zoo’s carbon footprint and energy costs, as well as be used to educate visitors about the benefits of solar energy. The solar photovoltaic (PV) system will be mounted on the roof of the Zoo’s new South Texas Discovery Center, currently under construction. Gladys Porter Zoo is located 500 Ringgold St., Brownsville.

“In honor of Earth Month, the 30-day celebration of Earth Day, Green Mountain Energy Company is especially pleased to donate the solar array system to the Gladys Porter Zoo, an organization that is dedicated to supporting the environment and conservation projects to preserve endangered species,” said Vanessa Montelongo, South Texas market manager for Green Mountain Energy Company. “Green Mountain has been serving customers throughout the Rio Grande Valley and the surrounding communities since 2002. Donating solar systems like this one helps us give back to the communities where our customers live, work, shop and play, while supporting our mission to change the way power is made.”

Green Mountain funded Gladys Porter Zoo’s solar array through its Big Texas Sun Club®, a unique program in which Green Mountain’s Texas customers can choose to support solar energy installations in Texas by paying an additional $ 5 on their monthly Green Mountain Energy® electric bill (for information, visit http://www.bigtexassunclub.com). This will be the 27th solar project built in Texas thanks to the Big Texas Sun Club. With this installation, Green Mountain’s Big Texas Sun Club will be responsible for creating over 287 kW of new solar energy capacity in Texas since 2002.

“We are pleased that Green Mountain Energy Company and the Big Texas Sun Club selected our project to fund. They are helping us further our mission of educating the public about wildlife conservation. When the South Texas Discovery Center is complete it will educate Rio Grande Valley children about the benefits of solar energy and wildlife conservation,” said Dr. Patrick M. Burchfield, Zoo director.

The Green Mountain Energy® Solar at Gladys Porter Zoo is expected to produce more than 26,700 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per year by converting sunlight into pollution-free electricity. The solar array is expected to save approximately $ 130,000 in electricity costs over its 30-year lifetime. It is expected to offset over 36,000 pounds of carbon dioxide (CO2) each year. That’s the equivalent of taking over 1,100 cars off the road for a day or 10,600 houses turning off all their lights for a day.

A sign about the array and information about solar energy will be placed at ground level adjacent to the building where the array is mounted. A monitoring web site will also be linked to the array to display real-time energy output data that anyone with Internet access can view.

The solar panels will be installed by Atlantis Solar. Construction on the solar array will start later this spring and is expected to be completed by this summer.

Clearview Electric, Inc. Now an Energy Supplier for Rockland Electric Company

xml:lang=”en” lang=”en” xmlns=”http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml”>

Clearview Electric, Inc. Now an Energy Supplier for Rockland Electric Company

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) April 12, 2011

Clearview Electric, Inc., located in Dallas, Texas, is certified by the State of New Jersey Commission and is licensed to supply electricity and electric generation services to all New Jersey residents who have service through Jersey Central Power and Light, Public Service Electric Gas Company and Atlantic City Electric and now Rockland Electric Company.

In New Jersey, the local utility maintains the lines, continues to do repairs to the current infrastructure, and bills the customer for all electricity services, payment arrangements or responding to any power outages. After selecting Clearview Electric, an independent electric supplier, New Jersey residents should see a lower supply rate than the local utility.

“New Jersey residents have the right to choose an electric supplier. Our customer service team is more than happy to answer any questions about Clearview, how deregulation works, or how choosing an electric supplier can save New Jersey residents money,” Clearview Electric’s President, Frank McGovern says.

Deregulation has changed how New Jersey residents purchase their electricity; residents have had a choice of their electric supplier for over a decade and recently rates have become competitive for electric companies to pass on more value and savings to New Jersey residents.

Clearview Electric, Inc.

Clearview Electric, Inc., incorporated in 2006, is located in Dallas, Texas providing value to tens of thousands of customers in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Texas, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. For more information about enrolling with an electric supplier in New Jersey, call 1.888.CLR.VIEW (888.257.8439) or go to our website http://www.clearviewenergy.com.
